Best Price Cheap Taylor Classic Roast/Yeast Thermometer Discount Review Shop

I have one of these and I love that I can trust it to read accurately no matter what. Dial and digital thermometers are subject to failure, and I’ve been disappointed by faulty readings using both. A glass thermometer is completely passive, so as long as you don’t break it, there’s nothing to go wrong. Whether your dinner is a chicken, or a 0 ribeye roast, you need / deserve tools you can trust, and you can trust this.

I have a digital meat thermometer with a remote probe that I use for grilling. I love the convenience because I can read it without opening the grill (and losing all the heat), but as stated above, it’s history of flakey readings mean I use it for ballpark only. I always use the glass thermometer too, and when digital says “You’re close” I start paying attention to the glass thermometer. It’s okay to have more than one meat thermometer, really.

Some reviewer here on Amazon said the letters washed off her Taylor Classic Roast / Yeast Thermometer in the dishwasher. Thanks for the heads’ up. I wash mine by hand.

Here’s the gotcha I’ve found with it: There’s some dispute over safe cooking temperature for poultry. The thermometer shown on Amazon lists the finish temp for poultry as 185 degrees, F. I understand that that’s been USDA gospel for decades, and still the recommendation in Canada. Recently I’ve heard 165 degrees F is hot enough to kill the bad stuff, and see that USDA has adjusted their recommendation downward. My thermometer listed the finish temp for poultry at 165 degrees and I found out the hard way that birds cooked to 165 are way too rare for my liking. So when it comes to poultry, cook to the temperature listed in a cookbook you trust.

Bottom line: This isn’t the most convenient thermometer out there, reading it takes a careful look. But on the plus side, you can trust what it says 100%. Other thermometers … not so much. And you can’t beat the price!

Overall this is an excellent microwave, but with a few caveats:

1) I had read other reviews regarding the unreadability of the display on this and similar Panasonic microwaves, but didn’t fully appreciate the problem until it was set up on my counter top. The display is unreadable above 45 degrees from the horizontal, which means that at arm’s length to operate the controls, you must bend over to see the display. My solution, which was to build a stand to raise the top of the microwave up to the bottom of the cabinets, made the display high enough to be (barely) readable while standing up, but is probably not acceptable to a lot of people. Panasonic should have caught this in testing and provided a flip-up display that could be adjusted to the installation.

2) Also as mentioned in some of the other reviews, the door release button requires so much force (at least when new) that the unit will skid across the counter-top unless you hold it with your other hand. Mine is mounted in the corner, where it has some stability, but it is still marginal.

3) This unit replaced a Panasonic in which the touch-pad controls died, and the buttons here are indeed logical and have a good solid feel to them. It does take some time to learn programming without a touch-pad, but that shouldn’t be an overall issue in your decision.

4) Panasonic could do themselves a favor by better explaining the benefits of the terms Turbo, Inverter, and Sensor, as this microwave indeed performs very, very well after you get over some of the other problems.

I just started making homemade donuts this year. They were so popular with my friends and family, that I decided to join my friend at the local farmer’s markets to sell them. Very quickly, I was making up to 6 and 7 dozen at a time, at least twice a week! My neighbors began wanting them for birthdays and other special occasions. I was using a canning cap ring to cut out the donut and a plastic soda bottle cap to make the holes. While this worked decently, it was time-consuming, switching back and forth to make the holes. Also, I wanted to make sure that I was making my donuts in the most sanitary way possible. Finally, it dawned on me to look for a donut cutter (duh!), and Amazon.com was the only place I could find what I was looking for at a decent price. When the cutter arrived (very quickly, I might add), I couldn’t wait to whip up a batch just to try out the cutter. I was cutting the donuts faster than I thought, and I wasn’t having to fight the small bottle cap to get the hole out!!! I WAS THRILLED! It made the entire process so easy and cut production time literally in half! I LOVE THIS CUTTER! Plus, it’s stainless steel and I don’t have to worry about washing it and leaving it in the dish drainer to dry. AWESOME!!!

Best Price Cheap Fred Cool Jazz Ice Cube Tray Discount Review Shop

These ice cube trays are a great gift for any musician. My sons (17 & 20) think they are very cool and they use them to stir their cold tea. The only down side is the little music note ice cubes in the center of the tray always break when you try to take them out.

I must admit that I had doubts about bread boxes. I never expected that this one would keep my bread, tortillas, rolls, etc. FRESH for 3-4 times longer than if I kept them on the shelf. I was so surprised! Never a touch of mold! No hardened bread! This is just a super stay fresh container for bread products! As far as other comments go about sitting “stuff” on top of it, I have no problems. I keep a basket of snacks and other light weight items on this box and have not noticed it to be an issue.
